Cleaning Ceramic Tiles
You will find a lot of solutions when it comes to cleaning tile grout. There are many people who have their own tactics and chemicals in removing and cleaning grout. Do not think there is only one way in doing this properly. There are many options that work and can do the trick for you too. And so, I haven’t really got anything to add about grout cleaner that hasn’t been said before by someone else.
Many of us like how the ceramic tiles look in our home, but we sure do not like to keep them clean. It is not something we enjoy in, but we have to do it.
It is hard to clean the tiles, especially all those cracks and the grout. What you need to do is to find the suitable cleaning products for grout and apply the techniques that will bring results. There are many products available and different methods of cleaning. But the best thing is, they all strive to make this work a bit less strenuous then it once was.
The tiles are made from clay that was baked at very high temperature, so they would be strong. Some of the tiles are glazed, others aren’t. Ones that are, will be a lot easier to clean, because they have a layer of protection already. Unglazed ones are very porous and tend to hold the dirt in them. I really do hope you have glazes tiles, because they would be much easier to clean. And you won’t have to find specific grout cleaner for the job.
What you will have to do with unglazed tiles is to seal them. I talked about this in my previous posts on this blog. When you protect them, then it will be much easier to keep them looking good. The grout itself is made out of cement and sand or silicone. The silicone is much better, since it will resist a lot longer and is easier to clean.
You should take care to pick the right cleaner, because the tiles may be scratched with ease. Your goal is to eliminate the germs and mildew, while keeping the tiles undamaged. Too strong is not always too good. On the contrary.
The best way to do this is to keep the cleaner to sit there for a while. Apply it and let it do its business. It will soften the dirt and will allow you to clean the floor without hassle. Do not use a brush at this moment, because you may damage the floor. Grout cleaner should always be used with care, and you should read the instructions that come with it. Some of them are used in different ways than the others. Remember that.
While you are working, use rubber gloves and keep the room ventilated. Those are the basic safety precautions and I hope you will stick with them. It’s not hard to follow them anyway. Why risk it at all.
Clean the floor with the water several times. This will prevent the dirt from staying one the grout and sinking back in. After you do this several times, you can spray your floor with one of the products that will prevent the creation of mildew.
