A Bit About Grout Sealer Spray

without comments

I was so glad to see how grout sealer spray really works. I think this is one of the best and most easiest things I’ve ever used. Makes it easy for a child to do it. And the mildew will be a history after you finish working with this.

Grout Sealer Spray

The main idea behind a grout sealer spray is that there is no wiping necessary to place the sealer on the right spot, the grout, and remove it from the tiles. The sealer should be soaked into the grout only, while it should evaporate from the tiles completely. This means that there is no cleaning, no rags or brushes needed. Sounds too goo to be true, right?

Well, after sealing two showers that have a nonsanded grout, I was satisfied. There were 4″ square tiles there, just to mention.

I have to say that I am a lazy dude and this is why I used this. Not to test it, of course. I used Scrubbing Bubbles and a bit of elbow grease when it comes to preparing the grout for the sealing. It was one of these good old jobs that you do on your knees. It is still fun, I feel like a maid of some sort. I don’t know why, but that kicks my tick.

After it all dried. I used two coats from one can only. This is great, since my expenses were $10 only. And the spray job went fairly quickly, although I did this for first time. Fumes were a bit too much for me to bear, I have to admit that the smell is not really pleasant. I could have some sort of mask, but like I’ve said – lazy.

It was interesting how smooth it vent. I just sprayed the sealer, up and down. It was a fantastic thing to look at. And the latex caulking was completely destroyed by it. I had to remove it and replaced whole. But that made my shower looking better then ever before. The hotel could hire me to do theirs I suppose.

After 2 months, the beading up was not like it was the first few days. But I expected that. That happens with all sealers. If you do not use some sort of epoxy, that is what you get. But I was surprised at the marketing here, the manufacturer claims it can hold on for more them 10 years. I don’t think so. But the point is, you can coat it again later and it will also be this easy. It will cost you less then $10, which is a great advantage.

Spray Tile Sealer

I would use this grout sealer spray again, and I will, when the time comes. It is easy to apply it, yo just need a respirator and a pair of gloves. Something most of us DIY persons have in our home anyway. When you are finished, you can enjoy in the beauty. Nothing more simple then that. right?
